Those We Help

In addition to getting referrals from the many social service agencies in our county, we get the bulk of our referrals from the local school districts.

Each school district in Macomb County has one person designated to identify children who are struggling with housing. These individuals are the Homeless Liaisons who reach out to The Macomb Charitable Foundation seeking assistance with shelter, clothing, food and more.

Once these children become part of our program, we work with them the entire calendar year to provide them with basic necessities.

How We Make
A Difference

At the Macomb Charitable Foundation, we assist children and families facing homelessness or poverty—offering personal support and providing the items and experiences a parent is not able to afford while seeking shelter. Sometimes we make a difference for a day, sometimes we make a difference for a lifetime.

We provide daily life essentials like shelter, food, clothing, and hygiene products—helping families meet their most urgent needs with dignity and care.

We support children with opportunities they might otherwise miss: summer camps, band instruments, athletic gear, prom attire, tutoring, college mentoring, and more.

When health and mobility are barriers, we step in with dental care, eyeglasses, medical equipment, and wheelchairs—helping every child thrive.

We walk with the families referred to us for an entire calendar year, offering counsel, prayer, and resources. Once housed, we assist with beds, bedding, and household supplies.
